Is Your Job Search on Vacation, Too?
With the Holidays here, your mind is probably focused on what gifts you still have to buy and how you’re going to get everything wrapped in time. So where does this leave your job search?
You can be in the Holiday spirit and still hunt for a new job. You may slow down in your applications but definitely keep looking. You need to keep applying for those positions that appeal to you and fit your expertise. You might miss a great opportunity if you slack off too much.
Also, there could be less competition that you have to deal with. If you’re slowing down your search for the perfect job, don’t you think others are too? Take advantage of the situation. Make the most of it. I’m not saying you should spend your vacation days scouring over want ads, but just keep you eyes open. You never know when an employer is going to be looking for someone with your qualifications.
It might be a little slow in the job search area and there might not be a huge amount of postings, so this is the perfect time to brush up on your interview skills. You’ve got to keep sharp…even through the Holidays.
