Network…During the Holidays?

If you stop and think about it, it can really be one of the best times to network and meet people who could help you with your job search.

If Holiday parties or department get togethers are a part of your plans, then you may strike it rich, so to speak. It’s a time where you get to meet spouses and significant others and find out more about them. What do they do? Where do they work? Basic things like that. You’re not grilling them for information. You are simply having a conversation with someone you don’t know very well.

When you’re looking for a job, anyone can be a source for a job lead. If you were thinking about applying for a position at a company that you find out is having financial problems, then you just saved yourself from possibly making a huge mistake.

Networking can also help down the road in case you interview at a company where you already ‘know’ someone. So be sure to make a good impression no matter who it is. You never know when you might run into that person again.
